Levels in SADX which require close surveillance

Any level that can't be done in Story mode due to timer issues or otherwise, post them in here.

So far I have Chaos 2 and Chaos 6 (all characters), due to the fact that the timer starts later in Story mode.

In theory, you could also have every Sonic and Tails level as well, since there are no capsules in Story mode. I know it adds ten seconds, but that's just the first time through isn't it?

Any others?

And on the topic of SADX, I think Miniboss' times need to be looked at - Red Mountain Gamma in particular. As far as I can recall, nobody's even come close to that, probably because it can't be done.

Emerald Coast Gamma too, I've been intrigued by his time in this level as well as Jamixesa's, though I think Taco said it was possible since he also got a good time (and he doesn't even know how).

Wtf, mike? That's how you have those records? I thought you stated before that all times should and must be done in Trial Mode due to certain controversies like the no capsules and stuff like that. I've been wondering why I can't defeat those records, it's because you get an unfair advantage that YOU said should be against the rules. That's not fair mike. I frown upon you for that. :(

Also, yes, Miniboss's Gamma times seems to be impossible and they all end in 00 centiseconds, sounds like BS to me. 6 minutes in Red Mountain Gamma is just impossible.

I've gotten all my records in Trial Mode since I thought that using Adventure Mode was against the rules (me and mike conversed about that a while back, but then he does it, I'm alittle pissed about that), so is it? If not, then I'm going to go use Adventure Mode and see if I can see any advantages. I know lives won't much of a hassle anymore. :o

Indeed, all times must be done in Trial Mode. Didn't realise mike said he did some in Adventure Mode (still don't).

I think you two are misinterpreting, I'm assuming Mike is simply stating the levels that have a Story mode advantage, and therefore are banned, not that he actually got those times on Story Mode.

Did you not think I had a mind?

Uh, no RPG, he clearly stats that he has the records BECAUSE of the Adventure Mode timer advantage. It says it clearly there. >_>

Hm, actually methinks by saying "I have" he was just stating that he knows of those two stages so far that "can't be done in Story mode due to timer issues or otherwise". Note that quoted text in this post are his own words.

'So far I have' just seems to me that he's noticed this for himself, not that he's used it to get his records.

I guess its pointless arguiong over it though, the only person that can prove either of arguments right is Mike himself.

lol

dont know about the whole mike thing

I can't say 100% whether jamixa's time (or whatever his name is) is legit or not, but I'm thinking that it's definetly possible to get.

I was recording the run and did get it on tape...but it got overlapped somehow...so I can't watch it to see exactly what I did. something very strange just happened with the timer...Maybe it has something to do with confusing the timer and the combo lock on system, blah blah blah >_>

Just for the hell of it, I think I'll try this level again, and try to get a recording of it. I definetly know the right path to take, but I'll just keep restarting until I get the lil crazy timer trick to work.

OK, I won't be looked down on for this.

I (well, perhaps not so clearly) stated that they were simply the levels I had identified as trouble areas. I'll have you know that if I had submitted Story mode times, I'd have a Big Chaos 6 time close to five seconds. And a Knux Chaos 2 of under 20.

Now while I'm at it, CAN ANYONE CONFIRM WINDY VALLEY GAMMA???

OK, sorry about that, I'm a bit pissed off now. :(

Are we allowed to play in Adventure mode or not?
Except for the boss timer differences and the extra lives,
there don't seem to be any advantages to it.
There are probably more disadvantages.
Most levels are a bit easier the first time (no capsule),
but the extra 10 seconds makes it harder to get good times.
Also, Knuckles has a timer glitch. One time, I restarted
after seeing where the pieces of the Emerald were,
but the timer kept going.

If we're not allowed to play in Adventure mode at all, this whole thread is pointless.

About the glitch that makes characters start later in levels,
I just remembered that it's actually in Trial mode. Hahahaha!
Er, never mind. It's still a cheap trick,
and I don't know how to make it useful.

What about WV Gamma?

No, we aren't allowed to use Adventure Mode as we have just argued about. As mike said, there are still some unconfirmed discrepencies about some levels in Adventure Mode, and I seriously doubt there are more disadvantages. How could there be any disadvantages, you're able to finish with a quicker time, no capsules (+10 seconds to timer, but still...) and you have a greater supply of lives instead of the crappy 4 lives in Trial Mode which gets on my nerves. The life aspect is basically the only reason why I would want Adventure Mode being allowed, other than that, no, it shouldn't I suppose. Also, Marth, that's not really a glitch with Knuckles. There are certain "checkpoints" in Knuckles stages. One I know in Casinopolis, is were you go into the area with the gears and you fall out, that's considered a "checkpoint" and if you restart/die, the timer will restarts to what it was when you exited the area with the gears. There are a few more in the Knuckles levels, I'm not sure what else though. Also, this thread isn't pointless, we need to find all the dicrepencies so that we can look at all the seemingly impossible to get times. But making accusations (which I did... V_V) wouldn't be too good though so just incase the person knows something others don't (or they are just better V_V), well, I dunno... Also, about your last statment, what do you mean? How is starting later in a battle considered a cheap trick? I'm confused.

If I beat the second level for any character without the first,
I'll probably be able to unlock a half-level in Trial mode.
For example, E-102 starts in Final Egg 3.
If I unlocked FE3 for Sonic, I could start there and
easily beat the level in under 30 seconds.
The trick is done in Adventure mode, but the actual run is in Trial mode.
There's probably a rule against changing the starting point.
Even if there isn't, I still have some problems.
1. I don't know for sure what will happen.
Maybe the game would automatically put Sonic in FE1 instead.
2. I haven't escaped the hotel. The only way seems to be by using the statue.
(and Sonic can't reach the burger shop until he gets through Emerald Coast)
I should do the trick with AR just to see what happens.

Sounds like a trick similar to the 6-second Cannon's Core... Interesting. o.o;;

It doesn't take 10 seconds to jump onto a capsule, therefore rendering that a disadvantage?

It requires to do other stages first and change between modes and such, I don't see how and why it should ever be allowed.

Marth: I agree with F-Man, that should never be allowed unless Rolk makes a Freestyle for SADX, but until then, that should most definately be disallowed.

Oh, yeah, and let me tell you what I meant by Windy Valley Gamma.

Apparently there's more lock-on-able stuff in Story mode - like, you can lock on to stuff which doesn't count toward time in Trial.

However, my source is blueblaze, and that probably means it's bullshit. I thought I mentioned it in the first post, but meh.

That's why I called it a cheap trick.
It doesn't break any rules, but it's still like cheating.
______________________
I tried it with AR, but the game kept freezing.
One time, I unlocked everything, but when I quit to go to Trial mode, it froze.
Anyway, when I use character modifiers, the character does start in the right place.
That means that problem #1 (in my last post) is probably nothing.
(I got Sonic to start in Gamma's FE, which is FE3.)
If I can make it work without AR, it will be a cool glitch, if nothing more.
______________________
While I'm talking about Action Replay, I might as well say what else I've been using it for.
I found out that certain level select codes can activate lots of cool features, like
no fog, different music, different lighting, longer load times, no death lines (yay!),
freezing (awww!), thick fog, whistling ouside of the Chao Gardens, and no backgrounds.
